NEW SOCCER CLUB
A meeting chaired by John Crudden, FAI Development Officer, was held on Thursday night 21st May in the Glencarn Hotel at which a new soccer club was formed. The club hopes to cater for boys and girls in the Castleblayney and surrounding areas from 7 year old and upwards. It was decided to cater for the U9’s group to begin with and to enter a team/teams in the new Monaghan U-9 League which is taking place at the moment. A name for the new club has yet to be decided.
The following officers were elected: Gerry Callan (Chairperson), Joanne Loughman (Secretary); Charlotte Morris (Treasurer); Annette Hanley (PRO). Committee Members are: Noel Murphy, Jim Donnelly, Chuck Callan, Dermot Hanley; Russell Tatagamputiya, Kevin McKenna, Bernie McGuigan, Francis Morris, Mary Loughran, and Mairead Casey.
Registration and first training session for U9’s will take place on Sunday, 31st May on the Astro Turf at Our Lady’s Secondary School, Castleblayney at 4pm. Contact Kevin on 042 974 9657 after 6pm for further information.
