Location
Donaghmoyne is situated in south County Monaghan. As the largest
parish in the diocese of Clogher it extends from the northern boundary
of Carrickmacross town to the south boundary of Castleblayney town.
The N2 slices through the parish separating Donaghmoyne to the right
handside and Lisdoonan, Broomfield and Aughnafacron to the left
as you travel North.
Donaghmoyne may be more better known for adjoining Inniskeen and
it has been long recognised that Donaghmoyne has always had the
superior football team!
Geography/Landscape
Donaghmoyne has a number of lakes, Creevey and Lough Na Garnaman
in Lisdoonan, Lough Moylan in Donaghamoyne. The parish sits on drumlins
the most famous of these Fincarn Hill reputed to be the home of
Fionn MacCauil.
